1.alliteration(押头韵):used of the same consonant at the beginning of each stressed syllable in a line of verse.

每每提到这个修辞手法,都会让Sherry老师想起自己上中学的时候,老师为了让我们练习单词发音,发给我们的众多绕口令当中的一个,请大家一起来饶舌一下吧:

She sells seashells by the seashore. The shells she sells are surely seashells. So if she sells shells on the seashore,

I’m sure she sells seashore shells.

2.allusion(暗指、暗示): indicates the reference to another work.

3.colloquilism(白话、俗语):informal words, phrases or even slang used in writing or speech.

4.euphemism(委婉语): is a generally harmless word or phrase that replaces an offensive or suggestive one.

5.hyperbole(夸张): makes quantities of people or things stand out by exaggerating them.

  1. irony(反讽、反语法):use of words which are clear opposite to one’s meaning. 我们通常说的irony分为以下三种:verbal irony, dramatic irony 和 situational irony.

– verbal irony: irony in which a person says or writes one thing and means another, or uses words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of the literal meaning.

– dramatic irony: (theater) irony that occurs when the meaning of the situation is understood by the audience but not by the characters in the play.

– situational irony: irony involving a situation in which actions have an effect that is opposite from what was intended, so that the outcome is contrary to what was expected.

7.sarcasm(挖苦): is a sharp, bitter, or cutting expression or remark.

  1. simile(直喻、明喻):a figure of speech that expresses a resemblance between things of different kinds (usually formed with “like” or “as”).

9.metaphor(象征、隐喻):a figure of speech in which an expression is used to refer to something that it does not literally denote in order to suggest a similarity.

10.personification(拟人): is a figure of speech in which a thing, an idea or an animal is given human attributes. The non-human objects are portrayed in such a way that we feel they have the ability to act like human beings. 拟人用法应该算是众多修辞手法中比较简单直白的一个了,所以掌握起来并不困难。

最常见的十种修辞手法全部介绍完毕啦,希望可以把这些知识点传递给大家。
